This
large tea bowl whit wide open mouth, has silvery or iridescent spots appearing
on the black glaze. In Japon, imported tenmoku (black glezed Tea bowls), with spots
on water are are known as yuketytenmoku widely known for its remarkably large
spots and exquisite form. Near the base on outside, the black glaze drop, below
which the glazed foot reveals dark colored clay unique to the Jian ware Tea
bowls produced in Fujian province. A character "xin" is engraved inside
the foot.
